Malice Writes: Villain Origin Challenge

We've been thinking about bad guys (and gals) recently. Because, let's be honest, our favorite stories wouldn't be nearly as great without their signature villains. And we decided we would all like to see some villain origins explored, especially some of the villains who don't get a lot of attention.

So we've decided to turn it into a challenge.

Are you up for it? The winner will receive a $5 Amazon gift card and one of the Malice Authors’ ebooks of their choosing, along with various social media exposure to all of our many followers.

Challenge details:

This challenge will be a combination of tasks and will begin on June 6th, 2016.

1. Like our post on Facebook and then comment your favored villain on this blog post. You will receive confirmation of your villain if it is still available. If it isn’t we will allow you to choose another. After confirmation you will receive a generic challenge cover for your Wattpad story sometime within 48 hours.

2. You will post your challenge cover and a summary to Wattpad. You must tag it with the following: #malicewrites #villainoriginschallenge. You will have two weeks (14 days) after posting the cover and summary to finish the first three chapters. They must be posted to wattpad in your challenge booklet.

3. After the first week is up, a Malice Author will pair you with another random contestant and the two of you will exchange reviews and critiques of each other’s chapters. Upon completion of this you will notify the Malice Authors’ wattpad account and we will verify to make sure you completed the task.

4. One week after we have verified you have completed all prior assignments, your entry (if you have followed the rules) will be shared and promoted on all of our social media outlets. The Malice Authors will then read all entries and choose a winner.

The winner will receive a $5 Amazon gift card and one of the Malice Authors’ ebooks of their choosing, along with various social media exposure to all of our many followers.

*Due to the numerous Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan, etc. stories already out there, we are choosing villains that aren’t talked about as much and don’t have as much limelight. If there is a villain not listed that you would like to write about, ask us about it. AND NO, YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT USE HANS FROM FROZEN. Let it go.

Once a villain is chosen it can’t be used by more than one participant, so choose wisely (and quickly) before your choice is taken! If we receive more participants than the number of villains, we will add more villains from other stories.
