Malice Peer Review Writing Workshop

Malice Authors Peer Review Creative Writing Workshop

Writing can be a difficult. Sometimes you can feel like your writing sucks and you have no idea where the story is going. That’s why you need a community and friends who understand what you’re going through and who are willing to help you through the process.

It was with this in mind that we, the Malice Authors, have decided to host a bi-weekly peer-reviewed creative writing workshop on Wattpad. Every two weeks we plan to post a creative writing prompt on our page and interested writers can participate and get their work read and reviewed by other contributors.

You can participate in the workshop any time; there will be no penalty for missing deadlines or failing to turn in work. However, new prompts will be published every two weeks and after a certain time period no critiques and reviews will take place on old prompts. Certain things will also be accomplished within that 14-day time period that may not be offered later.

How to participate:

• On April 4th a booklet will be posted to the Malice Authors Wattpad page. The first prompt, along with a few tips, and a letter from one of the Malice Authors will be posted inside. It will detail everything you need to do to participate, but here are a few details until then:

  • You will post your name, Wattpad username, and email address into the comments section of the workshop booklet.

  • Once you have established you are interested in the program, you will write an entry based upon the given prompt. There is no word count limit on what you can post but reviewers will only be required to read up ot 5000 words at one time.

  • Upon completion of the prompt assignment you will notify us and we will email you a set of criteria upon which you will review another writer’s work.

  • A writer buddy will be assigned to you who will read and review your work (based upon given criteria) and offer advice and constructive criticism.

  • A Malice Author will also provide criticism to one randomly chosen entry every two weeks.

What you will get from the workshop:

• Reviews, comments, and constructive criticism from other writers

• Community and support

• Writing tips and advice from the Malice Authors

• More publicity for yourself and your works, as it will be shared on your page as well as the Malice Author’s page

For more information, send us a message on our Facebook or Wattpad accounts. Further details will be posted on the Malice Wattpad page on April 4th.
